Marshfield Kennel
Gifted Bird Dogs for Experienced Hunters

What about importing a dog to Canada?

Roxie on the Ottawa RiverOK, a lot of things here.  Pictured is Marshfield's Artemis FDJ NAI "Roxie" in her "back yard" the frozen Ottawa River.  The first dollar Marshfield Kennel ever received is a Loony!  I have it framed.  I learned a lot from the experience.

First is money.  I need checks in US dollars.  The US banks are horrible about Canadian funds, but the Canadian banks are pretty good about US money.

If you are worried about deposit order, don't.  If the check takes three weeks to get here, I'm still going off your post-mark, not the day I get it.

Communications.  E-mail is cheap, and I like it.  I also have unlimited long-distance calling to Canada for free.  I don't speak French, but my friend Pascale does and I'm certain she'd help us communicate.  I'm sure your English is better than my French.

To get your new pup into Canada by land or air, you will need an international health certificate.  I will supply it at no extra cost.

To register your pup with the CKC, you will need proof of importation, a three generation pedigree from the AKC and a Canadian microchip.  Proof of Importation is the AKC registration certificate with your name and address on it.  I will have the AKC send this to you directly.  For $17 I will order the pedigree at the same time, which will save you time and money.  I will also get a chip from the CKC and implant it in the dog for the cost of the CKC chip. Believe it or not, the CKC chips can't be read in the US or Europe without special scanners.

Hunters need a president who will back them.   No guns = No Hunting = No Hunting dogs.  Please vote responsibly.
